First Time Heli-Skiing

Wow! First I just want to start by saying this was the most amazing experience I have had. Last week we decided that we should try something new on our trip up to Whistler and we had always said we wanted to try heli-skiing. So I called and booked us to go (Ok we actually snowboard but you get the picture). Helicopters...mountain tops...lots of untouched snow...no ski lift lines...must I go on? Let’s just say we went thinking it was something we needed to do at least once in our life now we are already planning our next trip. If you are, or have ever thought about it, you should! From a difficulty standpoint I think anyone that can ski in powder and can handle a helicopter ride should be fine. After a good while of avalanche and helicopter safety training we were off. It was amazing to watch the terrain fall away beneath you as the helicopter took off and we started to climb alongside the mountain. Once they found the next perfect location they would circle a few times before they dropped us off. Once the feet of the helicopter would touch down and we were given the nod we would all climb out of the helicopter and huddle in a group on the ground as they took off and left us there on the summit. It was breath taking each and every time! As we would descend the mountain I would take a look back at where we had just come from and it seemed almost unnatural for us to be in the serene environment It was a great time and I hope to get the chance to do it again soon. .

CES 2008

I was back down in Las Vegas at CES this year! It was an exciting place with a great keynote from Bill Gates and lots of fun gadgets. There were a ton of flat screen tv's and Guitar Hero everywhere.

China's Amazing Food!

I just recently returned from China where I was visiting family. I am not sure why but I found a lot of food pictures in my photos from the trip so thought I would share them with you. Sorry for those of you who are not adventurous eaters and have weak stomachs.

Wine Tasting

Some friends of mine and I all got together to celebrate a friend getting married and we played a wine tasting game. We took a bunch of different types of wine and put them in brown paper bags and just had to guess the type of wine. It was a blast there was lots of wine, cheese, and great appetizers. What better way to spend time with your best girlfriends then talking over wine and food!

Gnomedex 7.0

This year’s Gnomedex was graced with great weather and a wealth of interesting people. There was lots of chatter in the hallways and guitar hero all day. It is always a lively time!

We were at the Seattle aquarium for the evening event (sponsored by Live Search Maps, which are the reason for the extremely large red pushpins in the photo gallery) that has just been recently remodeled. In the photos above there is a three part series of one of the aquariums volunteers catching some algae from the Puget Sound (not so sure what was in the jar?? Looked like it could have been leftovers from the city night life to me K ).

Anyways, I met a bunch of interesting people and a few avid photographers that were awesome. I am awaiting my new camera lens to come in the mail thanks to a recommendation from Josh and a very thoughtful husband (THANKS! And more fun photos to come)!
